When I need stuff for hiking, climbing, and backpacking, the first place I go is to REI. Now they are on-line, with specials you can't always find in the store.

If you've spent any time camping, you know how important that is. At the store in Austin, the manager of the section with the climbing gear is a retired USAF colonel who served with me in Vietnam.
