The top of the lawyers' tent is visible in the left center of the photo. Each campsite is enclosed on at least three sides by heaps of boulders. These act to lessen the effects of the high winds that commonly sweep the Boulderfield. |
Just to the right of center is a man-made structure of split rough-hewn logs. This triangular structure is used to tie horses to. The upright posts are also used by day hikers to stow their excess gear while they are enroute to the summit. Some use chain locks to secure their gear to the posts; others just stack their gear, or place large rocks on it to discourage thieves. | |
