The images that grace the pages that follow will generate many different thoughts in the minds of those who view them. But the one above, taken while Fr. Foley recited the Lord's Prayer, is perhaps the most telling. It is a solemn moment. Scott's head is reverently bowed. But Amy, ever the investigative reporter, surveys the congregation with an inscrutable smile. What thoughts are passing through her mind? One might just as well ask what thoughts passed through the mind of the Mona Lisa when she smiled this very smile in 1503. We will probably never know the answer. But one thing is certain. She is in command of every passing second. It is writ large upon her pretty countenance. The charge "Carpe diem!" has not been lost on her. She has seized this day, and it belongs to her. May it ever be so...
